One of the most important strategies in winning battle or war is to not let the enemy see you while you are attacking or penetrate their bases. In order to do this, you will need to wear some Camouflage devices or camouflage clothing. Camouflage has been sued by almost all military forces in all over the world. There are so many ways the camouflage clothing will make the wearer easier to make a penetration to the enemy base without being detected by the enemy. Not o9nly doo the clothes make the wearer easier to penetrate the enemy base, but it will also help the wearer to retreat if they experienced some bad things during the mission.

If you are working in military services such as the NAVY, you will need to have some military camouflage uniforms whenever you need to wear it for your mission. If you mission is in the jungle, for example, you will need to wear greenish camouflage uniform that can help you hide in the green forest. When you are selecting your camouflage uniform, you need to know what kind of field that you are about to jumped into. By selecting the right camouflage uniforms, your mission will be much easier.

If you are about to record your voice for any kind of record, you will have to make sure that there will be no sound or voice recorded other than your sound. To avoid any sound comes to your recording microphone, you need to record your voice in iso booths. Iso booth or isolation booth is a kind of booth that is used by so many recording studios to record one instrument at one time. The isolation booth is used to make sure that there is no other sound that is being recorded other than the sound that is intended to be recorded.

So, for example, if you are going to record your voice for a song, you should do your vocal taking activity inside the vocal isolation booths. Doing this will be very recommended as it will be able to record your pure sound and leave any other sound outside the booth. Sound isolation can also be useful for any instrument. For example, if you want to record your drum sound for the church, you might need to put some church drum panels inside the isolation booth to make the sound of the drum intact from any other sound outside the booth.

Let’s play guessing now. The next kind of candy is probably all the time kids’ favorite. Parents, together with either professional or amateur dentist frequently band this candy for kids. Still, kids’ love on this candy is just unbreakable. It is hard outside but right in the center kids find one of two following options: candy or bubble gum. The size and flavors are beautiful and attractive and sweet as well.

What is your guess? Those who answer Jawbreakers may stay, the rest please read this. This type is usually made only in few flavors and sizes. But this time, you will get surprised. There is a mini one that is in less than an inch size then you may chew the super size with more than two inches diameter. Super!

The alternative name of it is Bulk jawbreakers; they both are actually the same one. Bulk emphasizes the center filling. The options remain still: gum or candy. Each gum and candy gives you pleasure in the mouth. To get your hero is effortless; simply just get them from the closest Vending machines. Good news for you, the company also serves you several machines you can totally pick one. The machine will keep your candy cold and delicious; don’t worry.

You may pause at the thought of getting your own compost bin because of the perception that it is a dirty and messy endeavor to undertake. This is why a quick trip to the local garden centre is so popular as it’s a no hassle way to go but there are many reasons why it’s a great idea to start your own compost pile.

Anyway to start with, yes there is some work involved but the pros far outweigh the cons in this situation.

One of the most obvious advantages to having a compost bin is that you can fill it with food and garden waste which is only getting thrown away anyway so in effect it’s free. This is in contrast to going out and getting the synthetic equivalents from a garden store. Even if you manage to buy the best homemade organic compost on the market can you imagine just how much it’ll cost if you have to cover a large area.

Another good reason for having your own compost is that it can very often contain many more nutrients and minerals compared with the commercial synthetic made products you can buy. Compost also has a longer life to it which adds to the effectiveness of its use. With that being said it makes perfect sense to put in some effort in making compost. yourself.

What many people don’t realize is that fertilizer is basically a food for plants where as compost is a food for the soil. It’s very good for making the soil more erosion proof while improving the retention of water. I can also help to stop soil sticking together too much which can be a problem for plants.

You may still not be swayed by the benefits so far or making your own compost verses buying a synthetic version but as a gardener you should know that apart from the obvious cost saving and improved nutrients you can also tailor your own compost to suit your exact needs. Different plants thrive best with different types on nutrients so it would be very easy with a little research to find out exactly which combination of waste can produce top quality compost that fit your needs exactly.

You can also account for other variables like the type of soil you have and what weeds and pests tend to popup. The right compost can cure all these ailments and make your life a lot easier.

Other benefits to using compost is that it have proven to reduce the likely hood of diseases which can really plague certain types of plants in specific conditions. Compost is very green in terms of the environment because it’s also great at adding carbon to the soil which over time can help to eradicate the excess carbon dioxide in the air which has been connected with global warming. It is also really good at dropping the PH levels in soil and ridding the toxins left by synthetic chemicals which is the reason why farmers use it so much.

As you can see, compost provides no end of benefits to the soil a gardener uses to grow plants and it really is a must with anything to do with gardening. I’ve also pointed out several reasons for making your own compost with a secure compost bin in the backyard or garden. It’s now up to you as to whether you’re up for the challenge.

By the way it’s pretty easy to make compost but you can always get some advice from a local gardener to give you some pointers. That’s exactly what I did when I went looking online and entered gardner St Albans into the search engine to find a long list of gardener’s websites. I then just went ahead and gave one a call and they were very helpful.

Our sense of smell is probably one of the most important of all our senses for wellbeing. Scents can be very evocative, provoking emotions and memories, but more importantly, they make us feel good. Gardening provides many benefits to our health but one which sometimes gets overlooked is the power of scent in a garden. Growing plants that look beautiful is a joy in itself, but combine that with plants and herbs which are scented and you have something magical.

The importance of scent in a garden has become more popular in recent years with the growing popularity of aromatherapy and more awareness of how gardens can help those who have physical and mental impairments. I know of a garden designer who was recently involved in designing a garden for children whose sight was impaired. Not only were plants and structures which felt different and nice to touch important, but the garden was also filled with fragrant plants to stimulate their sense of smell and so enhance their experience of what was around them.

The aromatherapy herb garden

Many of the essential oils used in aromatherapy are derived from herbs which have been used for their fragrant healing properties since ancient times. Although you may not want to create your own oils from the plants you grow, you can make a herb garden that is filled with those aromas that help us in our everyday lives, as well as being useful in other ways such as for cooking and making an attractive garden. Herbs you might like to use in an aromatherapy garden which have the properties of an essential oil include sweet basil, whose oil promotes concentration, Roman chamomile well known for its relaxing properties, lemon balm which is an anti-depressant, sweet marjoram whose fragrance has a calming effect, bergamot or bee balm which has an uplifting scent, rosemary whose smell is invigorating, and of course, lavender whose scent is not only wonderful on a warm evening, but has a soothing effect on all our senses. Many of these herbs also have culinary uses, particularly the rosemary, marjoram and basil. The effects of chamomile can also be enjoyed by making it into a tea, as can those of lemon balm.

A perfumed border

Herbaceous borders are the perfect place in the garden to combine both beauty and fragrance. A border filled with scented plants will fill a summer evening with evocative fragrance and will fill your senses when particular plants are brushed by. Some plants you might like to consider include achillea or yarrow. This plant comes in a variety of colours from bright yellow to soft pinks and peach. It has a fresh, sweet herb-like scent and is known for its revitalising properties. Angelica not only makes a great architectural statement in a border, but also has a rich, earthy and spicy scent. Calendula or marigolds are a lovely bright flash of orange and have a sharp, herby aroma. Made into a cream it is used to treat a number of skin complaints. It will also keep pests such as greenfly away from other plants. Carnations and pinks have an exotic floral fragrance and are used for their uplifting properties. Gardenia is a beautiful plant with a heady, slightly spicy scent and is said to be an aphrodisiac. Rose geranium has the most gorgeous rose, floral aroma and is known for its balancing, harmonising effects. There are many more plants you could choose for your border such as honeysuckle, common jasmine, and lavender. But probably the plant with the most varied but always uplifting array of scents is the rose. Old roses are still bred today and there are a huge variety of colours and fragrances to suit all tastes, from sweet, delicate floral scents, to rich exotic and spicy. The scent of roses is uplifting, warming and euphoric which makes them a must for any truly scented garden.

Fragrant container plants

Whether you have a conservatory or want to grow scented plants outside in garden planters, there is a large variety to choose from. Balm of Gilead is a particular favourite of mine. Treat it as an annual, so it is best grown in a container. The flowers are small, pink and a little insignificant but the scent is heady and eucalyptus-like. Sweet peas are a classic to grow in a planter, whether on your vegetable patch, patio or in the middle of a border. Their sweet scent is fresh and reviving. The common primrose is an early reminder of spring with its sweet mossy scent and looks great when combined with other early flowering plants. Statuesque and fragrant lilies are probably the most versatile of container plants and their corms can be lifted and stored for following years. Many herbs can also be happily grown in containers. Move pots of lavender around to catch the warmth of the sun and release that wonderful, familiar scent. In a conservatory grow orchids and sweet, spicy scented citrus trees.

The list of fragrant plants is really endless. So when you are next planning a change to a border or wondering what to plant in an unusual container, consider the scent of a plant just as importantly as its appearance.

Garden Planters source unusual outdoor and indoor planters, and other garden related gifts – whatever your taste, be it traditional, modern or just a bit quirky, we will have something for you. Run by two qualified and creative gardeners, Garden Planters will also plant up your chosen planter with an arrangement of your choice. We believe garden planters are an integral part of any garden – they enhance the overall design and say a little something about the person to whom the garden belongs.

Creating a storage unit in your yard by yourself from scratch, can be a difficult task, but this job is made a lot easier with the assistance of Heartland sheds. They are extremely versatile wooden sheds, that can be used as a storage or recreational construction.

Heartland is now North America’s largest manufacturer of wooden sheds and they have been in the business now for nearly 40 years and nowadays, they are not only yard storage specialists, but they also create play sets, gazebos and pergolas too.

Heartland sheds are cost-effective and they are made of top quality and durable timber. The wood is manufactured to be insect and decay proof and last a very long time.

These engineered sheds are provided with double doors with galvanized steel hinges so that they do not sag or rust. There are different makes of heartland sheds available and you can decide on a shed that will suit your budget, style of your residence and space allocation to put up the shed.

If you are looking for a small shed to store your yard tools and a small lawnmower then you can buy the Rainier storage construction.

These are easy to assemble and you can put up the construction even if you are not an expert. The pre-cut wooden panels and the pre-assembled doors simply require a hammer, screwdriver and a tape to put together. Then just paint them to suit your taste and your heartland sheds ready for use. The price of the Rainier storage shed is US$ 998.

The Diplomat can be utilized for storage or as a workshop as they are large and roomy. Their reinforced structure can withhold strong winds and heavy snow. Just like the more modest sheds they are pre-cut and can be assembled with the help of just a few pieces of equipment. The layout for of this Diplomat shed is US$ 3,199.

The Heartland Country Manor is a two storey construction that comes with free installation. There is a roof space, workbench, windows and flower boxes included. These sheds are built to last and that is why you get a 10 year guarantee on all parts and labor. So if you have the room for a larger shed then it is better to opt for Heartland Sheds Country Manor. The price of this shed is US$ 4,049.

Heartland sheds are a breeze to install and the prices are cheaper when compared with other sheds. These sheds also come with floors, so there is no need to buy them at an extra cost. So heartland sheds are preferred by customers who like to construct their own work huts without specialized help, or are after a little extra quality for their money.

Over the past few years there is a large movement towards growing your own fruits, vegetables and herbs from seeds. The top three reasons people gave in a recent study conducted by the National Gardening Association, were to put fresh produce on the table, save some money and to know that what they were growing was safe.

Who can argue about all three reasons? Can there be anything in the store that is fresher than walking out of your back door, picking a tomato off the vine and then eating it right at that moment? I don’t believe so. As for saving money, the cost of a single vegetable seed is less than a hundredth of a penny. Yes that is one, one hundredth of a penny. Now of course you still need to water and tend to the plant, but in a recent USDA study, one tomato seed can produce over $50 worth of tomatoes. That’s a pretty good return.

When it comes to the safety of your vegetables, growing your own puts you in control of it. Unlike produce in stores, that are harvested in places you didn’t even know existed, you get control what goes into your soil and whether or not you want to treat your plants with a fertilizer. In other words, you make all of the decisions. That’s freedom to me.

This surge, and for these reasons, has lead to another push toward something. A variety of seeds that make vegetable gardeners feel safe when they plant them. They are open pollinated and heirloom varieties. Most of the time they can go hand in hand, but that is not always the case.

Open pollinated seeds are ones that have pollinated naturally. This type of pollination occurs when something helps pollinate the plants without “human” intervention. For example, the wind could be a source of pollination (this is also called Abiotic pollination), or some organism, such as a bee (Biotic pollination). The fruit of seeds that have been open pollinated will vary in size and shape. Unlike what you see in the store, all of your tomatoes won’t be the same bright red color or shape, but the ones from your garden will taste a heck of a lot better. A huge benefit of using seeds that are open pollinated is that you can save seeds from the fruit of the plants that you grow and get the same plant variety the following season (after you have dried out the seeds). That leads us to heirloom.

As the name heirloom implies, it is simply a variety that has been passed down from one generation to the next. As you can see, open pollinated and heirloom can go hand in hand, however there are times when many gardeners hand pollinate their plants if it seems that natural open methods simply aren’t working. That doesn’t mean you can’t pass down the seeds from your heirlooms, it just means they weren’t open pollinated.

As a side note there are two terms that get thrown in this mix that many new vegetable gardeners misunderstand. Open pollinated heirloom variety does not equate to organic. For a seed to be organic it has to meet the criteria of the USDA’s National Organic Program guidelines. Furthermore, a hybrid vegetable does not mean that a plant has been genetically modified. A hybrid is a cross between two plants to produce an offspring that has characteristics of both the parent plants. However the seeds of a hybrid child (referred to as F1) will not necessarily produce the same exact plant from which it came.

What does HPS stand for? HPS stands for high pressure sodium. Sodium ions will start to emit light when electricity goes through the molecules. Under pressure, the light gets brighter and closer to true light in color. It is a popular option for those who want to light the outdoors at night. It provides a gentle light that still illuminates the area and provides security without being jarring to the eyes at night. The longevity of the bulbs is another reason why different entities use these lamps in outdoor fixtures. They are very efficient and put out a great deal of light. A 600 watt HPS grow light will give a great deal of light without using a great deal of energy.

What are the components of an HPS grow light system? There are four basic components of a grow light system. The first piece is the most obvious. The bulb emits the light. A good example is a 600 watt HPS grow light. This bulb requires a reflector that will focus the light downwards towards the plants. The third component is a ballast. A ballast helps to reduce the amperage of the electricity and give the lamp a steady amount of energy. The final piece of the puzzle is the connection to the electricity. Most have a plug while others require a dedicated connection to electricity.

Why choose an HPS system over other options in these type of set ups? There are a number of benefits to using an HPS. It has a long life when compared to fluorescent and metal halide lights. For example, you can expect up to 24,000 hours of use out of a typical 600 watt HPS grow light. For a similar fluorescent the life expectancy is 10,000 hours. For a metal halide, it is 15,000 hours. These bulbs provide more lumens than many other lamps you can use. They are great as supplemental light in a greenhouse over the winter.

What should you expect from an HPS unit? A high pressure sodium fixture should be compact. The amount of lumens brought off per watt should be higher than you would find in similar metal halide or fluorescent lamps. A typical 600 watt HPS grow light should give you enough output of light to cover between 15 and 20 square foot of plants. With the longevity of the bulbs, you should expect the bulb to last for at least a year of constant use or two seasons of seed starting.

One problem with gardening nowadays is that many people have little or no backyard. This is why there are planters. Garden planters allow you to have an ornamental garden at home. These containers are available in a wide range of shapes, colors, and sizes. Flower pots and window boxes allow you to grow plants even if you have no backyard or open space for gardening. Home gardening has never been easier with the availability of ornamental plants that can be placed indoors and outdoors.

When choosing planters, it is important to consider how they would look with your home furniture and interior design. Also consider the kinds of ornamental plants that will be transplanted into the planters. Keep in mind that planters should serve as good-looking containers for your ornamental plants. An appropriate garden planter is one that does not only look good but also supports the growth of the plant in it.

The size of the planter is important for two reasons. One is that you cannot have small pots for big shrubs, unless you want to grow a bonsai. Another is that you cannot have a huge pot in the corner of a small room.

If you are planning to put up a modest terrace garden, then buying a good set of planters should be included in your project. Before you purchase a set of planters, consider what type of garden you want to have. Even if you just want to have a small shrubbery, having complementing set of planters will make your garden look decent. This does not mean you will buy planters of similar shapes and sizes. A balancing variety of pots and containers shall make your modest garden look great.

It is also necessary to choose planters based on quality. Poorly made planters may easily crack under pressure or with slight movements. Pots can freeze and break during cold winter days. Unless you plan to bring all outdoor ornamental shrubs indoors during winter, you probably should invest in sturdy containers for plants.

Some people simply buy beautiful garden planters without asking if the containers are appropriate for the plants. Nonetheless, most plants would grow anywhere as long as there is good soil, enough water, and a good amount of light.

Consider the porosity and drainage capability of the planters. Any container for plants should have holes that allow excess water to drain. Containers that have no holes will fill with water and soak the plants. So, make sure that the planters have means of draining water

Planters are made of various materials. Common outdoor pots are made of clay, but modern planters can be made of steel or aluminum. Ceramic containers are also available. Makers of garden pots and containers are now creating weather resistant planters that resist heat, frost, and other damaging elements. There are also plant containers with self-watering mechanisms that are useful during sunny days.

Many people have little space available for gardening. They may take advantage of planter boxes, which allow growth of varied foliage that look lovely. Container gardening is popular for those with little or almost no garden space. With the right planter boxes, you can have your own charming container garden.

Planting in pots or containers is a great way to soften hardscape areas. A stone patio can become a burst of color with a few well-placed planters and wooden decks can be festooned with blooms, if that is your pleasure. And the best part is: container gardening is easy!

Why is it so easy when even the greenest-thumbed among us sometimes struggle to establish and maintain a good perennial border? Because everything is within your control. Is it, quite simply, contained. The down side of this is that if neglected a container garden will not last very long. So be forewarned: you will get out a container garden only the effort you put into it. Proceed thoughtfully and you are almost certainly assured of success. Just follow these tips and you will be well on your way to being a container gardener.

Drainage

Remember that word. It is the basis of all container gardens. Without it plants are suffocated, soil is waterlogged, and pests and diseases thrive. When buying a pot always make sure there’s a hole in the bottom otherwise it’s a non-starter. The object here is to allow water to flow through the container, but to retain the soil, so at the bottom of the pot place some broken pottery or large pebbles before soil is added. You might also put a small square of window screen material over the hole itself – this will discourage those pesky critters from crawling in and making a home.

Soil

There are all manner of soil combinations that can be used and I will go into more detail in other articles, but here we will talk in general terms. Once your drainage material is in place fill the pot a third full of your planting mix and water it thoroughly to get rid of all the air pockets. Some people like to soak the pots beforehand if they are made of clay – it helps them absorb water better. Add more planting mix to about 6 inches below the rim of the pot – or 2 inches below the rim of a window box or similar container – and soak thoroughly again. You are now ready to plant.

Plants

Although we talk about Xeriscape plants for the garden, in containers you are not limited to these as you can amend the soil and watering to accommodate just about any plant you wish. Think about three things when selecting you plant material:

1) Size/Shape

2) Color

3) Foliage

Try to come up with a mix that will be pleasing to the eye. Choose one large plant with some height to it that will be your centerpiece and then fill in around it. Don’t just mix flower colors together, experiment with different textures of foliage. Having a plant that hangs over the side of the pot is always one of my favorite features.

A simple example would be a center of Coreopsis surrounded by Sweet Alyssum, Coleus and purple Petunia. Have fun with combinations. Walk around your local nursery and see what looks good and imagine how things might look in combination.

With the largest plant in hand dig a slight depression in the soil if needed – the plant should sit slightly proud of the soil when filled to about an inch below the rim of the container. Use your fingers to untangle any roots that may have grown in a spiral at the bottom of the plant and place in the container spreading these roots as you go. Place the smaller plants around the larger one, planting as before, then backfill with planting mixture to about an inch below the rim. Water thoroughly.

I always add a layer of fibrous mulch to the top which helps with water retention and regulation of soil temperature.

Placement

You may need to experiment a little with container placement on your deck or patio as sunlight exposure is a factor with more delicate plants. I use a dolly to move the heavier pots around. Just be careful not to handle them too harshly as clay pots, especially, will crack.

It is always a good idea to raise the container about a half inch off the ground to facilitate drainage. Flat stones work well.

We’ve only scratched the surface of container gardening in this article. The possibilities are nearly endless in plant combinations and container styles. Remember, you can also hang them from windows, fences and walls. You can place them within your garden beds for a delicious accent to foundation plants. And I’m sure you’ll come up your own ideas as well.
